Harbour

100 cm x 120 cm, oil and mixed media on canvas

Harbour was painted during one of the many lockdowns. A substantial and commanding work, it carries a powerful contradiction - storm and stillness, turbulence and calm. The canvas evokes the sense of a storm that has just passed: a lingering restlessness offset by the glow of distant light. With its rich, warm, and earthy tones, it has been described as possessing the drama and luminosity often associated with Turner, imbuing the work with an intense atmospheric depth.
