These portraits are something different - small oils on unbleached linen board, capturing a moment, a fleeting emotion, an expression. They are 20cm x 20cm and can be framed or unframed.
£650 or £1150 for two (N.B for subscribers only until 20th September 2025).
£750 or £1250 for two for non-subscribers.
With over 30 years of experience, I paint portraits that go beyond likeness - capturing presence, atmosphere, and the quiet emotion that lives beneath expression.
Many clients return over the years to commission further works, and my practice continues to grow through word of mouth. Whether working from life or photographs, I aim to create portraits that feel immediate and alive - something to live with, return to, and pass down.
Every face is a story. It’s an honour to be asked to hold it in paint.
The Process
Commissioning a portrait
Initial discussions will include what you are commissioning - the medium, size of canvas, your budget, time frame and location.
Once you have confirmed the details, Molly will arrange a photography session. For larger drawings and oil portraits, this usually takes place at her home studio in Earlsfield, South West London, and lasts around an hour. If you're based further away or abroad, she’ll guide you through the alternative process. For smaller drawings, she works from photographs you provide which you select together.
It takes up to three months to complete an oil portrait, but can vary depending on the size and medium.
