You Said You’d Follow
80cm x 80cm, oil on canvas
You Said You’d Follow is painted in dusty crimson and grey, evoking a stormy sky at the edge of day. The land is parched, almost desert-like, the eye drawn toward a passage between two looming forms - a place where the long-awaited figure of a loved one might at last appear. Equally, it suggests a destination: the point we know we must reach in order to honour a promise.
