Welcome
Molly Gaisford studied English Literature at UCL before training as an actress at LAMDA. Alongside her early theatre work, she attended Open Studios at the Heatherley School of Fine Art, developing foundational skills in portraiture through the French Atelier method.
Her painting practice evolved into a more instinctive and expressive approach from 2016 onward, giving rise to an ongoing body of work exploring interior and emotional landscapes. She continues to work across both portraiture and abstraction, with her paintings held in private collections in the UK, Australia, Europe, the Far East, and the USA.
Her work has been exhibited at the Mall Galleries and other venues across the UK, and she collaborates regularly with curator Monica Colussi, exhibiting in a number of notable central London locations.
With an emphasis on mood, texture, and material, Gaisford’s paintings evoke the shifting terrain of the human experience: land that is drenched, still, ablaze, healing. Her process embraces immediacy - applying paint directly from the tube, with palette knife or solvent-soaked rag - creating works that hold a space for both recognition and release. Her paintings invite the viewer to encounter their own inner landscapes: visceral, complex, and unguarded.
She works from her studio in Wandsworth, South West London, where visits can be arranged by appointment.
